Genomic profiling identifies genomic alterations in tumors that can be associated with targeted treatments for rare and poor prognosis cancers, new research shows. Analyzing tumors through clinical grade Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) technology has been useful in identifying genetic abnormalities in tumors that may make them vulnerable to molecularly targeted cancer treatment, the researchers note.
